Tampopo, directed by Juzo Itami (1985), is one of those rare, perfect films. I mean, you might not think so, but, then, you’d be wrong. This is a perfect film. It’s about one woman’s quest to make a perfect bowl of ramen and it has almost nothing to do with this post except remind me of why I travel and slavishly collect points and miles: to eat good food. Incidentally, I also just discovered that the Criterion Collection 4K digital restoration of Tampopo will be released on April 25, 2017, so there’s that to look forward to.

The winning customer will will a Japan trip for 2, to be announced on February 10, 2017. I recommend going down to SJVW to find out more information and slurp down a bowl (see how I brought this post back around to ramen?).
Because if I don’t win it, might as well be you.
